Shocking new dashcam footage shows a 21-year-old woman firing off rounds at police before being fatally hit by a cop car. The incident occurred in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on March 18. KTUL reports that Madison Dickson was being sought by police after she shot a man in head on March 16 and shooting a woman in the arm at a Walgreens on March 17. Both victims survived.
The above video shows Dickson leaving her vehicle and trying to aim a gun at cops while she runs. Tulsa World reports that Officer Jonathan Grafton drives his car onto the sidewalk and fatally hits Dickson. Two other cops present, Kayla Johnson and Ronnie Leatherman, fired at Dickson during the chase.
The Tulsa World says that Grafton is on administrative leave. Records show that he is a six-year veteran of the Tulsa Police Department.
The Tulsa World further reports that in early 2017, Dickson left a drug treatment program. Her friend from that program, Brittany Stieber, told newspaper, “Deep down, she was a good person. Drugs just got the best of her. The enemy got the best of her.”
KOTV reported in September 2015 that Dickson had been arrested for attempting to steal an Osage County deputy’s patrol car. Dickson was in the car and handcuffed at the time. She had initially been pulled over for driving a stolen car. She successfully stole the car and was eventually picked up at her mother’s house, still cuffed, though the car had been abandoned. When Dickson was rearrested, she was put in a special cruiser with a cage.
The same report notes that Dickson had previous for drug possession and driving a stolen car.
