Gennady “GGG” Golovkin vs. Daniel Jacobs Odds, Preview & Prediction

(Getty)

Saturday night marks one of the biggest of the year in the sport of boxing, as Gennady “GGG” Golovkin and Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs, the two best middleweights in the world, square off for the former’s vast collection of title belts.

Triple-G is unsurprisingly the major favorite in the eyes of oddsmakers and analysts alike, but Jacobs presents a sizable challenge for the undefeated champ. Here’s a preview of what to expect in the main event at Madison Square Garden:

Golovkin vs. Jacobs Odds

Note: Odds courtesy of OddsShark.com

Gennady Golovkin to win: -700

Daniel Jacobs to win: +450

Prediction

First of all, it’s safe to say this one will end before the allotted 12 rounds.

Golovkin, who has 33 knockouts in his 36 fights, hasn’t had one go the distance since a unanimous decision victory over Amar Amari back in June 2008. For Jacobs, an August 2009 win over Ishe Smith was his last bout that didn’t end early (that also includes a loss at the hands of Dmitry Pirog in 2010).

Both boxers possess tremendous power and can end the fight with a single punch at any given moment.

With that in mind, is there any way Jacobs can pull off what would be a monumental upset? He certainly thinks so.

“I’ve never faced him, but anybody can be hurt and I’m confident in my power that I can hurt him.”

Still, Golovkin is going to prove too much to handle. He didn’t look especially sharp against Kell Brook in his last fight, but he still wore the Englishman down and scored the fifth-round TKO. His devastating power is unquestioned.

“In 40 years I have never had a fighter that hits as hard as Gennady,” said his trainer, Abel Sanchez. “I have seen him hit someone 100 percent with protection on, but I have never seen him hit someone 100 percent in a fight. He hits very hard and I feel it at night when I go to bed.”

What separates Triple-G from the rest is that he combines that defining power with elite technique, and though Jacobs is dangerous and has what it takes to make this an extremely entertaining fight, Golovkin will ultimately leave Madison Square Garden with his 37th victory.

Prediction: Golovkin via 7th-Round KO

What Time & TV Channel Is the Linares vs. Crolla 2 Fight on Tonight?

(Getty)

After losing his WBA World lightweight title to Jorge Linares back in September, Anthony Crolla gets a shot to win it back on Saturday night when the two meet in a rematch at Manchester Arena.

Here’s a look at everything you need to know to watch:

Linares vs. Crolla 2 Viewing Information

Date: Saturday, March 25, 2017

Start Time: The first fight of the card is at 5:10 p.m. in the UK (1:10 p.m. ET in the US), while Linares vs. Crolla should start around 10:20 p.m. in the UK (6:20 p.m. ET in the US)

TV Channel: Sky Sports 1 in the UK (Coverage starts at 7 p.m. local time); Showtime in the US (Coverage starts at 6 p.m. ET)

Preview

When these two squared off the first time, it was a thoroughly entertaining affair. Linares ultimately went into Crolla’s hometown and won via unanimous decision, but “Million Dollar” pushed the Venezuelan to 12 rounds for the first time in his career, and the fight turned into one of the best of the year.

“The first fight was a hell of a fight,” said Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn. “Anthony was the favorite and now Jorge is the favorite. Anthony is the challenger. He’s done it before against Darleys Perez [to win a title] and he came back better, and he needs to do that again, as Jorge is the No. 1 in the division and proved it here last time.”

Many were clamoring for a rematch soon after the first one ended.

Linares is a slight favorite according to the oddsmakers, and rightfully so considering how good he looked in September, but with Crolla having nothing to lose and thus entering with a different outlook, there’s a good chance this fight turns out to be just as entertaining as the first.

Marco Huck vs. Mairis Briedis Live Stream: How to Watch Fight Online

(Getty)

The vacant WBC World cruiserweight title will be on the line in Germany on Saturday night, as veteran Marco Huck and undefeated Mairis Briedis square off at Westfalenhalle.

Bridis, 32, is considered a slight favorite by oddsmakers. Boasting impressive power, 18 of his 21 victories have come via knockout, and he hasn’t had a fight go the distance since November of 2014.

“I prefer opponents of this caliber, for the bigger the challenge, the better I perform,” said Huck. “I will be preparing myself very intensely and conscientiously, because if I do my homework well, a fight is usually decided in my favor before it gets even started.”

Following a loss to Krzysztof Glowacki in August of 2015, “Kapt’n” Huck has reeled off two victories in a row, most recently defeating Dmytro Kucher via unanimous decision in November.

The card, which also features Christina Hammer vs. Maria Lindberg, is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. locally in Germany and 8 p.m. in the UK. Here’s a complete look at everything you need to know to watch a live stream:
