Shane McMahon’s Children: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

With Shane McMahon’s children being seen on WWE television a few times over the past year, fans are preparing themselves for the day that a new generation of McMahons become involved in Raw and SmackDown storylines.

Shane McMahon, the commissioner of SmackDown Live, is married to Marissa Mazzola, and they have three children together. While we didn’t know much about them a few years ago, the young McMahons have been seen with their father at several WWE events since Shane made his return in 2016.

Here’s what you need to know about Shane McMahon’s three children.

1. They Range in Age From Seven to 13

Shane McMahon’s sons range in age from seven to 13 years old.

His oldest son, Declan James, was born on February 13th, 2004 and is now 13 years old. His middle child is Kenyon Jesse, who was born on March 26th, 2006 and is now 11 years old. Finally, his youngest son is Rogan Henry, who was born on January 20th, 2010 and is now seven years old.

While Shane McMahon has three boys, Shane’s sister Stephanie McMahon has three girls: Aurora Rose, Murphy Claire, and Vaughn Evelyn.

2. They Accompanied Their Father to the Ring at WrestleMania 32

The first time most WWE viewers were introduced to Shane McMahon’s sons was at WrestleMania 32.

That year, Shane McMahon had a match against The Undertaker, and he was accompanied to the ring by his three sons. Shane first entered and did his signature dance, and he was shortly followed by his kids, all of whom were wearing identical jerseys, sneakers, and who proceeded to do their best impression of their father’s dance moves.

During this storyline with Shane McMahon, it was repeatedly stated that the future of the WWE was being threatened with Shane’s match, and bringing out Shane’s kids served to heighten the stake. Leading up to the match, Vince McMahon told Shane that his children would have to see their father fail at WrestleMania.

After accompanying their father to the ring, Shane’s kids watched the match with their mother, Marissa Mazzola, and their grandmother, Linda McMahon.

3. His Son Was Seen Chanting ‘Bulls—!’ at an NXT Event Last Year

Shane McMahon’s son drew some attention last year when he joined in on a “this is bulls—!” chant at an NXT event.

This was at NXT TakeOver: Dallas in April 2016. Declan James was seen joining in on the chant while sitting with his grandmother, Linda McMahon, and his aunt, Stephanie McMahon. Declan and the crowd had this reaction to a match between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe being stopped when Joe had a bloody eye, according to What Culture. Declan did not, however, join in on a “f— PG!” chant that broke out a few moments later.

Video of Declan chanting at the NXT event was posted on YouTube, but it has since been removed, as the WWE has blocked it on copyright grounds.

4. Randy Orton Consoled Them When Shane Was Legitimately Injured at ‘Survivor Series’

At Survivor Series 2016, Shane McMahon was legitimately injured during a match with Roman Reigns, and after this happened, Randy Orton broke character to console Shane’s wife and children.

Orton later said on Twitter that because he’s a father himself, he knows what it’s like to have your kids there when something goes wrong in the ring.

Orton revealed in an interview with CBS Sports in December exactly what he told Shane’s kids.

“I told them their dad was a champ and he was a tough dude, and he’s fine, and it’s just part of what we’re doing right now, kids,” Orton explained. “Don’t worry about it. And they smiled and the wife was happy, and everything was cool.”

5. They Recently Visited the White House

Shane McMahon’s children recently had the unique experience of visiting the Oval Office and spending time with the president of the United States.

That’s because their grandmother, Linda McMahon, was being confirmed as administrator of the Small Business Administration. Vince, Stephanie and Shane McMahon joined Linda in the White House for the swearing in, and both Shane and Stephanie’s children were there as well.

President Donald Trump, of course, is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, and at WrestleMania 23, he shaved Vince McMahon’s head in front of 80,000 WWE fans. When the McMahon family took a photo with the president in the Oval Office, they had Stephanie McMahon’s children hold up a picture of Trump at WrestleMania.

Jessica Lockhart, Chris Jericho’s Wife: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Chris Jericho and his wife Jessica have three kids, one son and two daughters. (Facebook/Jessica Lockhart Irvine)

Chris Jericho, one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time, will be facing Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 33.

This comes after a months-long storyline in which Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens were best friends, only for Owens to betray Jericho on Monday Night Raw. Jericho is the current United States Champion, and that title will be on the line at WrestleMania.

Jericho has been married for 17 years, and he has three children. Here’s what you need to know about his wife, Jessica Lockhart.

1. They Met Through WCW Wrestler Disco Inferno

Chris Jericho has Glenn Gilbertti, a.k.a. Disco Inferno, to thank for meeting his wife Jessica Lockhart.

Jericho explains in his book A Lion’s Tale that he met his wife in Tampa, Florida, where he was performing with World Championship Wrestling. He and his fellow wrestlers frequently went to a Japanese restaurant in Tampa after shows, and one night, Jericho noticed his coworker, Disco Inferno, talking to “a breathtakingly beautiful blonde.” As Jericho was staring at her, she glanced over at him.

“When our eyes locked, I was completely enchanted,” he writes.

Jericho asked Disco Inferno who the woman was, and he said that she was a friend of his.

“When I heard the magic word ‘friend,’ the race was on and I insisted that he introduce us,” Jericho writes. He did and we didn’t stop talking until the restaurant closed hours later.”

Jericho says that they exchanged numbers and by the time he got home that night, she had already left a message on his answering machine.

2. After They Met, They Spoke Over the Phone for Several Weeks

After Chris Jericho and Jessica Lockhart met at that Japanese restaurant, it was quite some time before they saw each other again.

After all, Jericho was constantly on the road performing with World Championship Wrestling. Also, as Jericho explains in his book A Lion’s Tale, the very next day after they met, Jessica went up to her father’s cabin in northern Minnesota for three weeks.

However, Chris and Jessica spoke over the phone every day for the next few weeks.

“[T]he daily conversations helped us build a strong foundation for our relationship,” Jericho writes in his book. “We got to know each other well before anything physical happened. It was the exact opposite of the way most relationships begin and showed us that we had something special.”

Jericho says that by the time Jessica returned home from Minnesota, “she was already my girlfriend even though I’d kind of forgotten what she looked like. When I saw her again, she was more beautiful than I remembered and we’ve been together ever since.”

3. They Were Married in 2000 & a Fan Attended Their Wedding

Jessica Lockhart and Chris Jericho were married in 2000.

In A Lion’s Tale, Chris Jericho talks about a Japanese fan named Masa who “was the most dedicated wrestling fan I’ve ever met, so much so that he learned English so that he could speak to wrestlers.”

Jericho says that Masa introduced himself when Jericho was in Japan with WCW, and he offered to help him with anything he needed.

“I took him up on his offer and we became good friends – he even attended my wedding,” Jericho says.

Chris Jericho’s best man at the wedding was Lenny St. Claire, a Canadian professional wrestler who performs under the ring name Dr. Luther, according to Jericho’s book The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea.

4. She Wasn’t There to Witness Him Win the Undisputed Championship Because He Wasn’t Sure He Would Really Win

Chris Jericho Jessica, Chris Jericho wife, Chris Jericho wife jessica

As Jericho explains in his book The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea, it is tradition for wrestlers to invite their families to come see shows where they are to win a championship belt.

However, in 2001, when Chris Jericho became the first ever Undisputed WWF Champion, his wife Jessica was not there. That’s because Jericho wasn’t sure until the day of the show that he was going to win.

“I wasn’t told for sure until the day of the show that I was going over…so I didn’t have the chance to fly Jessica or my dad in to witness it,” he writes.

5. They Have Three Children

Chris Jericho and Jessica Lockhart have three children.

Their youngest is Ash Edward Irvine, their son who was born in 2003. They also have two twin daughters, SiSi and Chey, who were born in 2006. Anyone who listens to Jericho’s podcast Talk is Jericho will know them well, as Jericho’s three kids have all appeared on the show.

Ash is a self-described fish expert, and that’s usually what he talks about on Talk is Jericho; he has appeared on the show several times for Shark Week. Ash says that when he grows up he wants to be a ichthyologist, a person who studies fish and sharks.

Jericho’s daughters SiSi and Chey have a YouTube channel called Sisi & Chey Vlogs and Videos. Their subscriber count shot up after they appeared on Talk is Jericho and plugged the YouTube channel.

WWE WrestleMania 33: Matches & Predictions

WWE is heading back to a much warmer destination for this year’s “Showcase of the Immortals.”

WrestleMania 33 will emanate from Orlando, FL’s Camping World Stadium. Fans will be treated to the “Ultimate Thrill Ride” of wrestling cards as Raw and SmackDown Live’s finest go to war. Goldberg will defend his newly won Universal Championship against his fiercest rival, Brock Lesnar. Bray Wyatt will take on his former ally Randy Orton in a match for the WWE Championship. Roman Reigns will attempt to get rid of the old guard as he does battle with The Undertaker. These three bouts and the rest of the stacked card are all WrestleMania worthy in our eyes.

As we get closer and closer to WWE’s biggest show of the year, let’s bask in all its hype by breaking down our predictions for each matchup.

Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)

Predictions & Winner: This is quite the shock! The internet wrestling rumor mill had us geared up for a multi-man ladder match featuring the best of the Cruiserweight Division. But to our surprise and satisfaction, a one-on-one bout has been signed for the Cruiserweight Championship. Austin Aries recovered from the injury he suffered while in NXT (we’re going to miss his commentary, though…) and now he’s ready to take on the king of the division, Neville. This is much more preferable than the ‘Mania ladder match for a title that throws a bunch of guys in with no real storyline behind it. This grudge match has been built up solidly and its turned into one of our most anticipated matches of the show. This will no doubt be an impressive bout (especially if it’s given 10+ minutes). Neville has enjoyed a pretty good reign as champion and we honestly don’t see it coming to a close just yet. We’re going to pick Neville as the winner here, but “Double A’s” gonna stay in the mix with him until the next PPV.

WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss to Defend Against All SmackDown Women Who Are Available to Compete

Update: SURPRISE!!! Well, not really since Naomi’s shocking ‘Mania 33 appearance (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAVED AS A SURPRISE!) won’t be a thing. She’s officially been entered into this match now that she’s recovered from her injury. We’re still picking her as the winner of this one, though.

Predictions & Winner: It sucks that Naomi had to relinquish the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship due to a nagging injury. We figured she’d get a good run with the title, but that dream scenario got cut short before it could really get going. The title landed back in the hands of Alexa Bliss, but she’s heading right into a huge challenge at ‘Mania 33. Daniel Bryan made it clear that Bliss has to defend her division’s top prize against every SD Live women’s competitor. So with Alexa Bliss and Naomi (just wait because we’re going to speak on her inclusion later…), that leaves:

– Becky Lynch
– Carmella
– Eva Marie
– Mickie James
– Natalya

Our gut’s telling us that Naomi will make a surprise re-appearance since ‘Mania 33 hails from her home state. It makes the most sense for her to come back as the conquering hometown hero and reclaim her spot as the rightful queen of SD Live’s Women’s Division. So that’s the result we’re predicting will occur before our very eyes here. Her healing process occurred in February and is slated to last two months, but we’re still expecting her to come back early. Naomi will show up, shock the crowd, surprise the champion and leave with the title back around her waist.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson (c) vs. Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Cesaro and Sheamus (Triple Threat Ladder Tag Team Match for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

Wrestlemania 33

Predictions & Winners: In all honesty here, we haven’t been that intrigued in the tag team division on Raw and SD Live. There just isn’t a whole lot of good feuds or standout matches to look back on since the brand split birthed each tag team roster. Enzo and Cass have cooled off in our eyes, Cesaro and Sheamus are just…there and Gallows & Anderson still feel like damaged goods at this point. Throwing all three teams into a Triple Threat Tag Team Match like this is fine, we guess. We don’t care too much about who will capture the titles, but we’ll still make a pick here – Enzo and Cass will get the big babyface pop when they get the W! So yeah, the super charismatic good guys will FINALLY win the Raw Tag Team Championship after several failed title shots.

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Kevin Owens (WWE United States Championship)

Wrestlemania 33

Predictions & Winner: This “friends turned enemies” feud has been built up ever so nicely ever since JeriKO became a thing. While Owens’ run as Universal Champion left a lot to be desired, we still enjoyed the comedy styling of an always surly Owens and happier than usual Jericho. Owens’ turn on Jericho during their surprisingly entertaining celebratory segment hurt us more than expected. That’s why we’re so invested in watching this huge grudge match go down. Jericho tends to go that much harder in the ring when he’s on the ‘Mania stage. And Owens is one of the best wrestler’s on the Raw brand, so we know he’s prepared to do that once more. This one’s going to be a war. After the dust finally settles, only one proud Canadian will walk away as the victor – Y2J! Owens’ dastardly act against Jericho has to lead to witnessing such a vile man getting his comeuppance. And that rightful revenge from Jericho is what we’re expecting to see here.

4th Annual André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

Wrestlemania 33

Predictions & Winner: Okay, so here’s the lineup of participants entering the 4th iteration of this annual battle royal:

– Mojo Rawley
– Apollo Crews
– Big Show
– Curt Hawkins
– Braun Strowman
– Goldust
– R-Truth
– Primo
– Epico
– Curtis Axel
– Bo Dallas
– Jinder Mahal
– Sami Zayn
– Fandango
– Tyler Breeze
– Dolph Ziggler
– Rhyno
– Heath Slater
– Jason Jordan
– Chad Gable
– Jey Uso
– Jimmy Uso
– Mark Henry
– Sin Cara
– Titus O’Neil
– Konnor
– Viktor
– Kalisto
– Aiden English
– Simon Gotch
– Tian Bing

So of course the giants who’re a part of this massive brawl will dominate. And it’s a safe bet that one of them will make it to the final roundup of guys left battling in the ring. Let’s just keep it a buck with each other – we all know who’s walking out of this matchup as the newest trophy holder. The bearded badass with the theme music that starts with a blood curling roar – BRAUN STROWMAN! He’s been built up all year as an unstoppable beast. His loss against Reigns at Fastlane 2017 didn’t deter his push too badly, but this battle royal win could heal all the booking wounds he still took from that feud with Reigns. Braun’s our guy here!

Seth Rollins vs. Triple H (Non-Sanctioned Match)

Predictions & Winner: Remember the last time Triple H got himself involved in a Non-Sanctioned Match? It was against his best friend turned enemy HBK and turned out be one of the best matches of 2002. With Seth Rollins stepping into the role of HBK this time around, we’re expecting a violent battle on par with the one contested at SummerSlam 2002. Rollins’ surgically repaired knee will be a huge hindrance to him, no doubt. But the added adrenaline and bright lights of ‘Mania 33 will cause him to step up to the plate and fight his heart out. HHH and Rollins are no longer the unstoppable Authority combo they used to be thanks to HHH’s backstabbing turn. So now they’ll get the chance to physically act out their grievances during this battle with relaxed rules. Expect a lot of weapons getting thrown around and some outside interference. So here’s the thing – remember when Finn Balor got injured after his match with Rollins at last year’s SummerSlam? That event will play a huge part in how this match unfolds. After Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn’s interference subsides, Finn will then make a shocking appearance. To do what, exactly? He’ll jump all over Rollins as revenge for sustaining an injury from him and then pledge his allegiance to the main who hired him in the 1st place. HHH will get the win while his newest ally will begin a new feud with Rollins when he’s good and healthy. Finn, Gallows and Anderson vs. Rollins and whoever decides to roll with him will be one of Raw’s biggest summer storylines.

Paige & Alberto Del Rio’s Relationship: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

WWE superstar Paige this week was the victim of a hack, having a number of private photos and videos published online without her consent.

In the photos and videos, Paige is with fellow WWE employees Xavier Woods and Brad Maddox. These days, however, Paige is dating Alberto Del Rio, a former WWE wrestler who left the company in 2016.

Here’s what you need to know about the relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Paige.

1. Del Rio Says They Bonded Over Both Being Third Generation Wrestlers

Instagram Photo

Alberto Del Rio says that he and Paige bonded over the fact that they were both born into wrestling families.

Del Rio’s father is José Luis Rodríguez Arellano, also known as Dos Caras, a wrestler who was especially active in the 1970s, performing with Mexico’s Universal Wrestling Alliance. Paige, meanwhile, is the daughter of wrestlers Ricky Knight and Sweet Saraya.

“[T]hat’s what brought us together because she’s a third generation wrestler, I’m a third generation wrestler, we go through the same stuff,” Del Rio said in an interview with Busted Open Radio, according to Wrestling Inc. “When you’re in this business you bleed, you cry, you go through a lot of things and it’s amazing to have someone next to you to help you go through all of those things. Good or bad.”

Del Rio also added that he and Paige spent a lot of time together because of all of the traveling they did together while both with the WWE.

2. They Went Public With Their Relationship in May 2016

Instagram Photo

Paige and Alberto Del Rio went public with their relationship in May 2016; that month, they were seen together holding hands and embracing at Walt Disney World.

It was later reported that Paige and Del Rio had been hooking up since before WrestleMania 32. At first, a lot of people actually speculated that this relationship was entirely manufactured to promote the upcoming season of Total Divas, but that did not end up being the case.

The relationship between Paige and Alberto Del Rio was, however, featured in the sixth season of Total Divas. During the course of that season, Paige revealed that she is in love with Del Rio, saying that when he returned to the WWE, they started hanging out and “it just happened.”

In recent months, Paige and Del Rio have not been one of those WWE couples who tend to avoid talking about their relationship or being seen together. Rather, they frequently share photos together on social media and gush about one another. In December 2016, Paige posted a long love note about Del Rio on Twitter, saying that he is the perfect family man and that she finally found someone who is real.

Although the timeline of events in the photo hack situation is somewhat unclear, Del Rio and Paige would not have been together when the leaked videos were taken. The photos feature Brad Maddox, who was fired from the WWE in 2015, and they also appear to be shot when Paige was the NXT Women’s Champion, i.e. sometime between July 2013 and April 2014.

3. WWE Reportedly Tried to Break Them Up

Instagram Photo

The WWE has reportedly been unhappy about the relationship between Alberto Del Rio and Paige, even going as far as trying to get them to break up.

In September 2016, wrestler Mister Saint Laurent said in a podcast appearance that Paige was approached and flat out told that she had to break up with Alberto Del Rio.

“I do know that Mark Carrano, who fans might know from Total Divas, kind of like the office liaison guy, approached Del Rio and Paige individually and harassed each of them about their relationship. It was indicated that the office wanted them to sever their romantic relationship,” he said.

He also said that wanting to keep Del Rio and Paige apart was a big factor in splitting them up in the 2016 draft; in July 2016, Alberto Del Rio was drafted to SmackDown Live, and Paige was drafted to Monday Night Raw. This is in contrast to many of the other WWE couples who were kept together in the brand split, such as John Cena and Nikki Bella, The Miz and Maryse, and Renee Young and Dean Ambrose.

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer later said that wanting to break up Del Rio and Paige is indeed the reason they were assigned to different shows in the draft.

“The reality is they were put on different brands when everyone in decision making power knew full well they were a couple and it’s impossible to believe them being a couple wasn’t figured into the decision,” Meltzer said.

Meltzer also said that Del Rio and Paige “were like high schoolers when they together backstage.” However, he said that he doubted that anyone actually approached them and directly told them to break up.

4. Paige Has Several Del Rio Tattoos

In May 2016, Paige got an Alberto Del Rio tattoo: a small “Papi” on her finger; Papi is her nickname for Del Rio.

In September 2016, Paige got a second Del Rio tattoo, this one larger: the word “Alberto” on her ribs. Paige shared a photo of the tattoo on Instagram with the caption, “When you love someone so much you give it all for. Not the expression, no literally give it all for.” However, when the post was flooded with negative comments, she deleted it.

5. Paige Proposed to Del Rio in October 2016

In October 2016, Paige proposed to Alberto Del Rio.

She popped the question in the ring after Del Rio finished a wrestling match in Puerto Rico. Paige later took to Twitter to show off her own ring from Del Rio.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Paige and Del Rio’s wedding will take place in May 2017.

WWE WrestleMania 33: Our Post-Show NXT Main Roster Call Up Predictions

The Road to WrestleMania is always an exciting one, isn’t it?

What’s even more of a thrill is seeing who the newest members of the main roster are after the “Showcase of the Immortals” concludes. WrestleMania 33 will feature the best of Raw and SmackDown Live in some of the biggest matches in professional wrestling for 2017. But right now, we’re not going to focus too much on the “Grandaddy of ‘Em All.” We’re looking towards the future. It’s no secret that several members of the NXT roster will make their way up to one of WWE’s two main brands and start anew. After looking through the NXT talent pool and following their progress up until now, we found a group of Superstars who deserve that main roster call up.

Here’s our predictions for which NXT wrestlers will get the call up to Raw and SmackDown Live after ‘Mania 33.

Asuka (Raw)

Asuka NXT

NXT’s empress and one of the most dangerous female competitors in wrestling is quite the gem. Asuka has made the transition from Japanese Joshi pro to NXT’s unstoppable world-beater. Her run as the NXT Women’s Champion is one of the strongest reigns we’ve ever been witness to, but we get the feeling that she’s going to be on her way out. Ember Moon is challenging Asuka for her championship at the NXT TakeOver before ‘Mania 33 and this looks like a passing of the guard type of situation. Asuka has been built up perfectly into someone who’s seemingly unbeatable. We see Ember Moon rising up to be the one challenger who ends up besting Asuka once and for all. Once that title change comes to pass, we envision Asuka getting the call up to Raw. Asuka would be the perfect fresh face needed to change up the formula for Raw’s Women’s Division. After that big Fatal 4-Way for the Raw Women’s Championship comes to a close, Asuka should be brought in as the next foil for the new champion. Imagine this – Asuka vs. Charlotte, Asuka vs. Sasha Banks and rematches with Nia Jax and Bailey. Two never before seen matches and bouts that we don’t mind seeing again have us excited for the prospect of Asuka making it to the Raw brand.

Hideo Itami (Raw)

Hideo Itami

This pick might seem a bit off, but hear us out – Hideo Itami has been quite the bust on NXT. Let’s all keep it a 100 with each other now! The multitude of injuries he’s had to take time off for has stunted his run on the developmental brand. Now let’s not take anything away from him – Itami is a stiff, hard hitting athlete who’s capable of putting on a good match with foes both big and small. Speaking of small, Raw has a division that’s perfect for Itami’s inclusion. The Cruiserweights could use another hand and Hideo Itami seems ready made to be that extra body the division needs. But we can’t see him coming up to Raw as the bland babyface character he’s adopted in NXT. Itami needs to tap into his Pro Wrestling NOAH origins as the always pissed off, strong style Jr. Heavyweight known as KENTA. Itami can prosper in the Cruiserweight Division against opponents like Aries, Nese, Neville, Gallagher, Tozawa etc. Seeing him on Raw as the WWE’s most dangerous Cruiserweight makes complete sense to us.

#DIY – Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa (Raw)

Notice how both of the NXT to Raw call up’s we’ve spoken of stick to the mantra of “save one of Raw’s title pictures.” This next prediction not only calls upon the talents of a tag team that can aid Raw’s tag team division, it also adds two Superstars who can prosper in the Cruiserweight Division. Those quality athletes happen to be NXT’s beloved babyface tandem – #DIY, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa. We get the feeling that the current NXT Tag Team Champions (The Authors of Pain) will retain after their Triple Threat bout against #DIY and The Revival (more on them later). This 3-way feud will have gone on long enough by that point, which makes us think Gargano and Ciampa will move on to greener…well, redder pastures. Both men could do a great deal at freshening up Raw’s lackluster tag team division (them vs. Gallows & Anderson in a battle of “nerds” vs. the bullies that refer to them as such could be fun). Plus Gargano and Ciampa can be called upon to thrive in the Cruiserweight Division at any time. #DIY’s double duty status could do wonders for Raw.

Where is Mauro Ranallo on ‘SmackDown Live’?

Where is Mauro Ranallo on ‘SmackDown Live’? (WWE.com)

WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo was absent from SmackDown Live tonight for the second week in a row.

Last week on SmackDown, it was stated that Ranallo missed the show due to weather. This week, it was said that Ranallo is sick.

However, there is supposedly another reason for Ranallo’s absence that fans have not yet been made privy to. Last week, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter hinted at this but did not get into detail.

“What they said on the air was that the weather prevented Ranallo from coming and he’d be back next week and that Otunga was out filming a movie,” Meltzer said. “At least half of that was true, since Otunga was out filming a movie.”

Although it’s not yet clear if this is related to the reason he has been absent for two weeks, Mauro Ranallo suffers from bipolar disorder. He said in an interview with Sherdog that this is just a part of who he is and that he wants to battle the stigma surrounding bipolar disorder.

“I think mental health issues have to be more and more prominent; that’s who I am,” Ranallo said. “I know there is a stigma, and we’re still not comfortable talking about it in our society. You even asked me if I was OK talking about it for this story. I’ve been very open about this for many, many years. I firmly believe that’s who I am and we’re still not comfortable with talking about it in society, but I want to be an advocate. I want to make it easier for people to talk about. I hope that one day we’re still alive when people don’t have to ask and there is no stigma attached to mental illness.”

He also said that he is proof that a person can lead a functional life with bipolar disorder. Still, he said that he has had suicidal thoughts.

“I never attempted suicide, but I have had suicidal thoughts,” he said. “The biggest challenge is there are many days I feel like a fraud. I’ll be honest. Then I think I helped myself get to this point in my career. Everything I thought of came to fruition. What I’m doing now is what I always thought I would do as a child. I still can’t look at myself and see positives. I will say that I like myself more now than I ever have.”

Ranallo, who is usually quite active on Twitter, has not tweeted since March 14th, the day of the first SmackDown Live that he missed. In his most recent tweet, he said that he might miss the next show due to weather.

Stay tuned for updates about Mauro Ranallo and his future with SmackDown Live.

Mauro Ranallo: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

SmackDown Live commentator Mauro Ranallo has been missing in action for two weeks.

Ranallo has been working as a wrestling commentator since he was 16 years old. In recent years, his voice has become indelibly associated with SmackDown Live, and he provides commentary for the WWE’s Tuesday night show alongside John Layfield and David Otunga.

Here’s what you need to know about WWE personality Mauro Ranallo.

1. He Grew Up on a Farm in Canada

Mauro Ranallo was born on December 21st, 1969 on a farm in British Columbia, Canada.

According to a profile of Ranallo in Ring Magazine, he was raised by Italian immigrant parents on a six-acre chicken farm. He says that he used to practice conducting interviews with the animals on the farm.

Ranallo has two younger brothers. In February 2016, his brothers and cousins came down from Canada to see him perform on SmackDown Live.

He said in a 2016 Reddit Ask Me Anything that from a young age, he visualized almost the entirety of the rest of his life.

“At the age of 5, I visualized without knowing the definition of the term, my entire life,” he said. “I don’t know why it happened. I truly believe we are all born with a path, a gift, a purpose. I was drawn to the sound of voices. My best friend was a transistor radio, listening to announcers. I always like entertaining people, making them laugh. Because I was so shy, even though it’s diametrically opposed, I liked being the class clown.”

2. He Started Sports Commentary When He Was 16

Mauro Ranallo has been working as a sports commentator since he was 16 years old.

As he explained during an interview with Ring Magazine, he got started with All-Star Wrestling, a wrestling show in Canada. In 1986, the company held a show at his school, and wrestling promoter Al Tomko was so busy he asked Ranallo if he could announce the rest of the matches that night.

“…I ad-libbed my way through it,” Ranallo said. “Afterward, he asked me my name, and the next thing I know, I’m an on-air personality.”

Ranallo was hired by All-Star Wrestling and continued working on that show until it ended production three years later. He subsequently began work as a disc jockey for a radio station.

3. Michael Cole Reached Out to Him About Working for the WWE

Mauro Ranallo was hired to the WWE at the end of 2015. He said that this opportunity actually came about after Michael Cole followed him on Twitter.

“I noticed that Michael Cole, who is the voice of WWE and calls Monday Night RAW, followed me on Twitter and I was like ‘that’s kind of strange or odd but cool in the same sense,’” he told Fox Sports. “I thought maybe he was a boxing or MMA fan, whatever, I thought it was kind of interested. Next thing I get an email from Michael Cole and he’s asking me if I’m interested in exploring employment opportunities with WWE.”

Ranallo says that he felt extremely blessed to have this opportunity come up.

“…I was over the moon because anyone who knows me and know my story, sports entertainment has always been my first love,” he said. “It’s where I started my career at the age of 15.”

When Michael Cole contacted him, Ranallo was working as a commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

4. He Suffers From Bipolar Disorder

Mauro Ranallo suffers from bipolar disorder.

In an interview with Sherdog, Ranallo said that on his worst days, he has yelled death threats at his family and threatened to commit suicide.

“I would go through these unbelievable mood swings,” Ranallo said. “I would come into the house with a smile and ask how everyone is doing and then close my bedroom door and suddenly, ‘I’m going to [expletive] kill you.’ It would scare everybody.”

He says that he was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1989, when he was 19 years old.

“I was like, ‘[Expletive] you, you’re crazy,’ I told the doctor. I’m not crazy,” he said. “Then I started seeing things. I wasn’t getting out of bed. I wouldn’t shower. You see the patterns, and these things become apparent. Then you realize that there is something wrong with you. You let it take you over, and sometimes I did.”

He said in a 2016 Reddit Ask Me Anything that there have been periods of time in his life when he didn’t think he could sustain a successful career with bipolar disorder.

“There were many times I didn’t think I’d be able to have a life or a career, but taking those steps all of us are more than capable of having functional lives,” he said.

He added that therapy, exercise, meditation, and positive affirmation have helped him.

5. He Has Been Battling Depression

On the March 14th episode of SmackDown Live, Mauro Ranallo was not present, and it was stated on air that he could not make it due to the weather. However, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the next day that this was not actually the reason for Ranallo’s absence.

On the March 21st show, Mauro Ranallo was again not present. This time, it was stated that he could not make it due to illness.

Ranallo, who is usually quite active on Twitter, has not tweeted anything since March 14th.

This week, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the real reason is that Mauro Ranallo is battling depression. Meltzer reported that Ranallo has not spoken to people he’s known for years since before March 14th, although Meltzer said that two of Ranallo’s close friends say he is okay and is resting up.

Ranallo told Ring Magazine that he was sent into a deep depression when he was 19 years old and a very close friend of his died of a heart attack. He also said that he has had suicidal thoughts, although he has never attempted suicide.

“The biggest challenge is there are many days I feel like a fraud,” he said. “I’ll be honest. Then I think I helped myself get to this point in my career. Everything I thought of came to fruition. What I’m doing now is what I always thought I would do as a child. I still can’t look at myself and see positives. I will say that I like myself more now than I ever have.”

Alberto Del Rio Responds to Fiancée Paige’s Leaked Photos

Former WWE wrestler Alberto Del Rio. (WWE.com)

Former WWE superstar Alberto Del Rio has for the first time responded to the situation surrounding leaked explicit photos of his fiance, Paige.

On Thursday afternoon, Alberto Del Rio announced that he will not be attending WrestleCon, a wrestling convention that takes place next weekend in Orlando, Florida. Del Rio cited the Paige incident as the reason he will not be there.

“Due to the invasion of our privacy I need to be home with the person that needs me more at the moment and our family,” Del Rio said in a statement provided to the booking agency Prime Time Appearances. “Thanks for your support and I’ll be seeing you there next time.”

This is the first time Del Rio has talked publicly about the Paige incident. Del Rio has been dating Paige for about a year now, and the two of them became engaged last October. Their wedding is expected to take place in May 2017.

Paige’s parents, Julia Hamer-Bevis and Ricky Knight, have in recent days made statement indicating that Paige is not in a good place as a result of the photo leak and that she might be in danger. In a Facebook post, Paige’s father said that it will not help if people start supporting Paige after “it’s too late,” referencing instances of the public demonizing celebrities but changing their tune after the celebrity has died.

Paige’s mother made a similar statement, saying “I cannot lose my little girl!” She also said that she hopes that those who are bullying Paige online do not “take from me one of my most treasured gifts.”
